Hailing from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, State of Matter is a true connoisseur and lover of electronic music. With more than two decades of experience in the scene, he has spun everything from Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Experimental, House, and Techno. But if you ask him what makes him feel most alive and why, he’d say Drum and Bass—for the liberating creative expression he feels in the genre’s music.

State of Matter’s love for electronic music has put him behind the decks at clubs and festivals, and at other times leading movements like Jungle Island, bringing Drum and Bass and other harder genres to wider audiences on the small island. This year, the focus is on growth and exploring other genres.
