Maqām, born from a decade-long passion for electronic music and a wide range of influences, emerged in late 2019 as a duo with a distinctive take on organic house. Drawing from their North African and Middle Eastern heritage, they weave a 4/4 music concept enriched with cultural influences from around the globe. The Halifax-based DJs have a deep appreciation of electronic music culture and always aim to deliver sets featuring diverse instrumentation, eccentric vocals, rhythmic percussion, all wrapped in a melodic soundstage complemented by groovy basslines. 

Continually demonstrating varied scope and versatility in the fabric of their programming, they always seek to capture you in their eclectic tapestry of sound. Recently gracing stages at various festivals as well as local venues on the east coast of Canada over the past five years, they eagerly anticipate continuing to share their unique and uncompromising sound with everyone at Electric Pines!
