Ivany (aka Joeyslapzz) resides on beautiful Cape Breton Island and spins 140 deep dubstep. His inspiration to spin 140 came from a couple of special members of the Deep Dark & Dangerous crew. The name IVANY was chosen after his grandmother, Lillian Daisey Ivany, who grew up in Lamaline, Newfoundland. “She was so upbeat and her positive energy was through the roof. I want to bring that same energy to the dance floor.”

He believes that the electronic music scene is on the rise on Cape Breton Island. He has respect for all musical artists, no matter how they choose to express themselves, and finds inspiration in those who are truly passionate about their art.

“Personally, I just enjoy making people dance, and the fact that I am able to give my energy to the crowd is the best feeling in the world, honestly.”
