Joshua J came up in the late 90s Halifax rave scene. Learning to play records through his close friend and mentor Sonny D, Josh found a deep passion for all things house music. He became a staple around the city’s clubs and a resident for Courageous Productions and Urban Fuel Records, opening shows for some of the world’s great DJs of the time.

After a trip last year to Defected Croatia, Joshua J has rekindled his love for the driving funky basslines and big vocals of disco house. His style of mixing old-school house with new-school disco allows him to tailor his sets to fit into any groove at a festival or club, guaranteed to make you leave with a smile.

As one of the newest residents for the Boogie Events Krew out of Niagara Falls, he has been playing shows and energizing crowds all over Toronto this winter. 2025 is shaping up to be a big year for Joshua J, with new productions in the works, upcoming radio mixes, and shows booked across Toronto, as well as in Croatia, Ibiza, and Amsterdam.
