Josette

What started as a random idea from a partygoer turned into a life’s dream after Josette transitioned into a DJ in 2019 and later, a producer, following many years as a rave enthusiast. While living in Buenos Aires, where she spent 15 years, she began her career playing music through online streaming platforms and submitting sets to online radio stations in countries such as India, Germany, the UK, Costa Rica, and more.

Josette’s first electronic musical influences consisted of an intriguing mix between industrial and deep trance and progressive music. She would visit her local CD shop, sample an underground trance album, and then spend hours listening to it at home. Combined with her immersion in music and learning different instruments, this helped shape the artist she is today. Growing up, Josette learned to play the piano, played flute in school, and sang in the choir — experiences that developed her ear for music at an early age and laid the foundation for her understanding of musical structure in production. Her curiosity for deconstructing music led her to take music production classes, after which she released her first techno track through Sacudan Records in Spain.

Her adaptability and versatility have helped her refine her sound in the techno genre, with a particular focus on dark and hard techno. In 2022 and 2023, she spent considerable time in the tech house scene, producing several events in Buenos Aires that delivered high-quality musical experiences enjoyable even to those who weren’t typical electronic music fans. Over time, her influences have evolved from industrial and trance to progressive, house, and tech house, culminating in her deep love for techno. She seeks deep, layered kick drums and dark rhythms that make you feel the music internally before expressing it outwardly. Her inspirations include Svetec, NoNameLeft, Greg Notill, Andrea Signore, and Adam Beyer, among others.

Josette’s consistency and professionalism, combined with her drive to evolve, have led her to share the DJ booth with well-known national artists such as Carlos Ruiz, Nicolas Taboada, Luis Caballero, Camila Diaz, and Martin Angrisano, as well as international acts including MPH, Tommy Knuckles, Gene Farris, DJ Dan, Sicknote, MC Flipside, and Cesar Mantilla.

She has performed in various clubs in Buenos Aires, including Bahrein, The Gallery, Catamaran Libertad, and Bar Carnal, and at events such as Blackwave by Independence, Circle Festival, and YouClub Festival. Internationally, she has played in Peru at Bizarro Club, Epifania at BTH Hotel, and Domingos de Furia, as well as at the Marquee Ballroom in Halifax, Canada. She headlined Vitality Festival 2024 in Nova Scotia, performed at both Wavelength Festival in New Brunswick and Electric Pines Festival in 2024, debuted in Toronto at the Wiggle Room, and made her first European appearance in Barcelona.

Josette kicked off 2025 with a high-impact techno debut in Halifax at Thrive and is already planning another international DJ tour later this year. It’s onward and upward for her as she continues to dream big and work toward her music goals.
